Laos aims to break out of the category of least developed countries (LDCs) by 2020. It promotes environmental protection, with the aim of reaching the original 70% of the (Now less than 50%) by 2020, and confirms the choice of an open and integrated economy in the regional economy and in the world (gradual tariff cuts in Asean, Aimed at accessing the WTO in 2013, etc.). The government negotiates its natural resources by granting concessions on mines, land, water resources and resolutely wants to become the “Southeast Asian battery”.
