Requisition

Dernière mise à jour le 7 June 2019

What is requisition law? It is a procedure by which an authority (civil or military) demands the handover of movable goods, the use of property, or the provision of services needed to ensure the proper functioning of public services. Civil servants use requisition in exceptional circumstances. Source: CNRLT.

Forced requisition occurs when an individual who has no desire to hand over his/her property to a government authority is nonetheless forced to do so.

Soft requisition occurs when government authorities create incentives, rather than constraints, to encourage individuals to act in a particular way (such as offering money to renovate his/her property so that it can be placed on the rental market).
